Dining Sustainability Internship

JOB DESCRIPTION
UNC-Wilmington Dining Sustainability is accepting student internship applications to serve as paid
Sustainability Ambassadors. The chosen applicant will have the opportunity to participate in
educational outreach events and gain experiential knowledge in the field of food service sustainability.
Campus Dining Sustainability programs include multi-stream waste diversion,
microgreens and shoots, aquaponics, environmental grants and certifications, sustainability
education, and more!

CLASS CREDIT
This internship aligns with EVS curriculums allowing class credit for EVS 490, EVS 497, and EVS 597
Qualifications:
1. Currently enrolled at UNCW
2. Self-motivated/self-starter, flexible, pro-active, quick to learn.
3. Ability to multi-task with very good organizational skills and follow-through
4. Experience, knowledge and interest in sustainability, food service, and sustainable food issues
5. Comfortable interacting with others in various settings, one on one or in groups
6. Microsoft Office Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Student Responsibilities
1. Manage and maintain our microgreens and shoots operation
2. Manage and maintain an aquaponics system

3. Manage and maintain multiple hydroponics systems
​
4. Manage and maintain garden beds
3. Assisting with events (setup/breakdown, speaking with students about sustainability)
4.Comfortable dealing with waste
5. Social media content generation
6. General office assistance and research
